HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's golf team set a new program scoring record Saturday in the opening round of the Bridgewater College Invitational.

Playing the Mountain and Lake nines at Lakeview Golf Club, Shenandoah shot a collective 370 Saturday to stand seventh after day one of the two-day, 36-hole event.

Junior Sara Eadie paced the Hornets over the par-72, 5747-yard layout with an 18-over-par 90.

McKenzie Slattery shot 92, Madison Ngo 93 and Emily Conrad 95 to round out the SU totals.

Katie Davis had a 112 that did not count toward the team total while Gabe Cintron and Kylie Galano had a 115 and a 119, respectively, playing as individuals.

Eadie is tied for 28th in the tournament.

Host Bridgewater leads the tournament by 11 strokes over Eastern University. BC shot 314 Saturday.

Shenandoah is seven shots in front of eighth place Hollins.

The tournament concludes Sunday.
