Hargbol Named to Team of Week
Senior Alexis Hargbol has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week in selections announced Thursday by the Web site.
Hargbol, who earned USA South Confererence Player of the Week honors on Monday, led the the women's hoops team to the D1 Sports Blue Jay Classic championship this past week with wins over Wilkes and host Elizabethtown.
Hargbol had 39 points and 23 rebounds in the tournament as she picked up tournament MVP honors as well. In the 76-69 victory over Wilkes on Friday night, Hargbol also surpassed 1000 career points. She is the 15th woman in school history to achieve that milestone.
Hargbol is also the first SU women's player to be named to the Team of the Week since Alicia Sanders during the 2006-07 season.
The Hornets are back in action this Saturday at 2:00 in a non-league game against Eastern Mennonite.
