LEXINGTON, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's and women's indoor track & field teams five personal bests Friday on day one of the VMI Winter Relays.

Freshman Jason White had the Hornets top finish with a fifth place in the triple jump. White's 13.65 meter leap was tops against DIII competition.

Chris Smith was eighth in the same event at 13.22 meters.

For the women, Aislynn Smith, Kayla McGhee and Emily Miller all posted new career bests in the 5000 meters. Smith led this trio with a 19:07.16, 11th place showing and she was the third DIII finisher and the fourth non-DI.

Rachel Clark posted her personal best in the 500, coming in at 1:29.65 to finish 16th (2nd in DIII).

Natalie Lepri had the final PR for the women in the weight throw. She had an 11.40 meter toss and finished 21st.

Sophomore Kenneth McCauley rounded out the PRs by tossing the weight 12.78 meters to finish 20th overall and third versus DIII competitors.

The meet concludes Saturday.
