Women's Track Leads Nation in GPA
NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Shenandoah University women's track & field team had the nation's highest team GPA in rankings announced Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).
The Hornets had a cumulative team GPA of 3.676 to top a group of 100 schools earning Division III All-Academic team honors.
All six women who participated all season with the team all season long were named Academic All-USA South, which means that they all had at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in both the fall and spring semesters.
One woman, graduating senior Sarah Hickie, was named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III after graduating with a 3.95 GPA as a Business Administration major.
