Seven Earn All-MAC Academic
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Shenandoah University had seven student-athletes named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll in selections announced recently by the league.
All student-athletes who have sophomore class standing or higher and have at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale are eligible for MAC Honor Roll honors; Shenandoah competes in the MAC in track & field in the spring semester.
Justine Hastings, Kristen Melton, Kelley Mitchell, Amy Smith and Brandi Sobanko were named from the women's team while Thomas McKenna and Josiah Renton grabbed honors on the men's side.
Hastings, Mitchell, Smith, Sobanko and Renton all earned All-MAC honors either indoors or outdoors this season with Sobanko winning the women's heptathlon title at the outdoor meet in May.
Sobanko, a junior, also had the highest GPA in this group with a 3.83 as a Biology major.
