Track Sixth After Day One

SALISBURY, Md. - The Shenandoah University track & field teams stand in sixth place after day one of the Mason-Dixon Championships Friday afternoon at Salisbury University.

Sophomore Brandi Sobanko led the SU women with a fourth place showing in the high jump. Sobanko earned All-Mason-Dixon honors with a leap of 1.50 meters. Justine Hastings was sixth in the same event at 1.40 meters.

Kelley Mitchell and Amanda Theall backed up Sobanko by finishing eighth and ninth in the hammer throw. Mitchell had a toss of 37.06 meters.

On the men's side, sophomore Kyle Gutierrez was fifth in the 10,000 meters at 34:42.85.

The meet concludes Saturday.
