ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Shenandoah University men's and women's track & field teams completed their first-ever participation in the MAC outdoor championships Saturday afternoon with a pair of ninth place finishes.
Four different student-athletes earned a total of six All-MAC awards in the three-day meet, including three by junior Kelley Mitchell.
Mitchell earned first team All-MAC honors in the shot and was a second-team honoree in both the discus and the hammer.
Mitchell now has earned six All-MAC honors in 2008-09.
Freshman Kevin Schaeffer was the Hornets other first team honoree - he finished third in the men's 400 meter hurdles.
Brandi Sobanko and Amy Smith rounded out the athletes earning All-MAC honors with a fourth place showing in the heptathlon and a fifth in the steeplechase, respectively.
