Track Ninth in MAC Indoor

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Shenandoah University men's and women's indoor track and field teams both finished ninth Saturday afternoon at the Middle Atlantic States Championships hosted by Elizabethtown College.

Coach Andy Marrocco also saw seven men and five women earn All-MAC honors, including a second place performance by junior Kelley Mitchell.

Mitchell finished second in the shot put with a throw of 37'4" to earn first team All-MAC honors. She also was 10th in the weight with a toss of 31'2.5".

Freshman Brandi Sobanko was the other's women's individual honoree after coming in sixth in the 400 meters.

The final three women's honorees came in the distance medley relay. Sobanko, Amy Smith, Justine Hastings and Sarah Hickie were fifth in that event with a 14:01.72.

All of the men's All-MAC selections came in the relay events.

Daniel Daisey, Thomas McKenna, Kevin Schaeffer and Tim Robinson were sixth in the 4 x 400 meters before Josiah Renton, Kyle Farrell, Kyle Gutierrez and Daisey were fifth in the distance medley relay.
