Bishops Sweep Tennis
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Shenandoah University opened up its 2010 USA South Conference tennis slate by dropping both men’s and women’s matches to N.C. Wesleyan.
The SU women (3-3, 0-1 USA South) fell 8-1 and the SU men (2-4, 0-1) were shutout 9-0.
The closest men’s match came at No. 1 where sophomore Michael Milanov fell 6-3, 6-1.
NCWC (6-1, 1-0) is the nation’s 11th ranked team.
In the women’s match, junior Denise Myrick rebounded from losing the opening set at love at No. 4 to win 6-4 in the second and then take the match with a 10-4 victory in the third set tiebreak.
The Shenandoah men are back in action Sunday afternoon at Stevenson.
