Hightower Earns First Team Accolade
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Senior Colleen Hightower leads a group of five tennis players earning All-USA South tennis honors in selections announced Thursday afternoon by the conference office.
Hightower, who was named as the league's Player of the Week this week, led SU to a best-ever seven wins in the USA South with eight wins in singles and another eight in doubles.
Hightower has played in the No. 1 spot during her entire career and this is her first first-team All-USA South accolade.
Hightower's doubles partner, Briana Malley, joins Hightower as a third team honoree. She has seven singles wins in addition to those eight doubles victories.
Sophomore Brittany Bascope is the final women's honoree; she earned both honorable mention honors and was the team's Sportsmanship representative.
On the men's side, freshman Tim Robinson and senior Cody Jarrell both earned honorable mention honors.
Robinson had a team-best eight victories at No. 2 singles while Jarrell earned five wins playing Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles.
Both men had six doubles victories in their primary spots.
