Department Announces Video Streaming

WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug Zipp announced Wednesday that the department will offer live video streaming for home events this season.

There are currently 122 home events in the sports of baseball, men's and women's basketball, field hockey, football, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, softball and women's volleyball scheduled for 2012-13.

All of these events will be streamed in HD with the stream also containing live stats.

The streamed games will be able to be viewed with iOS and Android devices in addition to desktop and laptop computers.

SU will use longtime audio streaming partner Stretch Internet to provide the video streaming.

"Video is a huge part of the future of our web initiatives and is something every coach in the department identified as essential to recruiting efforts," Zipp said.

"We have great technology resources and being able to stream these games is an excellent way to utilize that technology."

The first video stream will be the men's soccer game on September 2 versus Goucher.
