Hwang Wins Twice for Men's Tennis

FERRUM, Va. – Host Ferrum College shook off a loss in the top singles match to down Shenandoah University, 7-2, in non-league men's tennis action Friday afternoon.

Junior Matt Hwang was a double winner for the Hornets (1-4), combining with Bryan Harris to win 8-5 at No. 2 doubles before defeating Connor Moncure, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.

Ferrum (4-4) took six of the remaining seven matches in straight sets.

Freshman Zack Frack, at No. 2 singles, was a 6-2 winner in the opening set before Danny Keo rallied for a 6-4 win in the second and took the third set tiebreak 1-0 (12-10).

Shenandoah returns to ODAC play Saturday with a 1:30 indoor match versus Guilford at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.
