Bishops Sweep Tennis

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Shenandoah University opened up its final USA South Conference tennis slates with a pair of 9-0 losses at N.C. Wesleyan Saturday morning.

The NCWC men (7-1, 2-0 USA South) are ranked No. 5 nationally and dropped just three games to the Hornets (0-5, 0-1).

Vladimir Daskalov, Anthony Horkan and Myles Hairston all won one game in their respective singles matches with Daskalov winning his in the first set and both Horkan and Hairston winning in the second.

The closest match for the SU women (3-2, 0-1) came at No. 3 singles, where Kayla Green was trailing just 4-3 in the opening set when she had to retire.

Kelsey Brewster had the closest completed match, losing 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.

Shenandoah is back in action tomorrow against Ferrum. The Hornets and Panthers will play a neutral site match in Lynchburg beginning at 11 a.m.
