ARLINGTON, Va. - Host Marymount University made a rebound goal in the first half stand up in a 1-0 non-league men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Saturday morning.
George Delgado knocked home a rebound of a Kjell Crooke shot in the 34th minute to give MU (2-3-2) the victory over Shenandoah (0-6-1).
The Saints were strong defensively in the contest, holding SU to just five shots on the day. Four of the Hornets shots came in the second half of play.
In addition to the 19-5 advantage in shots, Marymount took nine of the game's 11 corners.
Shenandoah keeper James Dutcher had four saves, three in the first half, to keep the game close.
SU hosts Hood College on Wednesday in a non-league contest.
