Tigers Sting Men's Soccer
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - Host Hampden-Sydney kept the Shenandoah University men's soccer team winless on the 2009 season with a 2-1 victory Saturday in the opening game of the Hampden-Sydney Tournament.
Hampden-Sydney (2-0) scored the opening goal in the 35th minute before getting what proved to be the game-winner 19 minutes later.
Shenandoah (0-1-1) answered that second H-SC tally with an Adam Aldinger goal 87 seconds later, but could not get the equalizer.
Arman Bozorgmanesh had nine saves in the losing effort for SU.
The Tigers outshot SU 16-13 and held a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.
The Hornets complete the tournament with a Sunday contest against Lynchburg.
