Men Drop Heartbreaker

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Host Stevenson University scored just over three minutes into overtime Saturday afternoon to capture a 4-3 non-league men's soccer victory over Shenandoah.

The golden goal Sal Caltabiano completed the comeback for Stevenson (3-5-1). Shenandoah (0-8-1) had held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before the Mustangs ultimately took their first lead with a goal at the 76:25 mark.

However, this lead was short-lived.

The Hornets scored just 78 seconds later on a goal by Adam Aldinger and sent the game into overtime in the process.

Stevenson took both of the shots in the extra session, and Caltabiano tallied the game-winner unassisted.

The Mustangs outshot SU 25-14.

Hornets keeper Brian Garretson made seven saves in his first start since the season opener.
