Eagles Soar Over Men's Soccer

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Host Bridgewater College kept the SU men's soccer team winless on the 2008 season with a 4-0 non-league victory Sunday afternoon.

BC (1-2) scored twice within the first 1:47 of the game and coasted to the win over Shenandoah (0-5).

After Chris Thomas, who had assisted Ivan Barisic's goal at the 43 second mark, scored an unassisted goal at 1:47, the game was without another goal until Matt Utz tallied for the Eagles in the 78th minute.

Barely three minutes later, the hosts finished off the day's scoring with a Phil Raines to Chris Hulse goal.

Bridgewater outshot SU 20-9 and owned a 4-1 advantage in corners.

Armand Bozorgmanesh had six saves in the loss for the Hornets.
