RADNOR, Pa. - Shenandoah University opened up its final Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse slate with a 24-1 loss at Cabrini College Saturday afternoon.
The Cavaliers (6-2, 1-0), who are ranked No. 13 in the latest USILA poll, held SU (0-9, 0-1) scoreless for the first 47:22 of the contest.
Junior Bryan Pope broke that scoreless string for Shenandoah with an unassisted goal at 12:38 of the fourth, but this would prove to be the Hornets lone goal of the contest.
CC led 19-0 at the time of Pope's goal and then scored five goals in a span of 7:06 to provide the final margin of victory.
Cabrini outshot SU 57-13, had a 46-19 advantage in groundballs and won 24 of 29 faceoffs.
The Cavs won 17 of 19 faceoffs in the final 45 minutes.
Shenandoah goalkeeper Tyler Quinn made 12 saves in playing the first 55 minutes of the contest.
SU continues CSAC play on Wednesday with a 4:00 game against Neumann.
