Three Earn CSAC Honors

ASTON, Pa. - Shenandoah University had three men's lacrosse players earn Colonial States Athletic Conference honors in selections announced Monday the CSAC office.

Midfielders P.J. Cooper and Sean Mack were both named to the CSAC Honorable Mention team for on-field play while goalkeeper Austin Clark was selected to the league's All-Sportsmanship Team.

Cooper, a junior, started 13 of the team's 14 games this season and had a team-high 22 goals. The Midland, Virginia native registered at least one point in every game except the season opener and had a high of five points on three goals and two assists in a 10-9 win over SUNY-Cobleskill on St. Patrick's Day.

Cooper earned CSAC Honor Roll accolades the following Monday after helping SU to wins over both SUNY-Cobleskill and Misericordia.

Mack was a mainstay in the midfield for the Hornets, scooping up a second-best in school history 109 groundballs and winning 137 of 234 faceoffs (58.5 percent). He had double-digit groundballs in five games, including the final two of the season, and won at least 10 faceoffs on seven different occasions.

In addition, the Westfield, N.J. native had five goals and two assists for seven points. His CSAC selection was at the specialty position as a faceoff middie.

Clark, a sophomore, played just over 133 minutes in a total of nine games this season and started the Marywood contest. He had 20 saves on the year, including five each against Immaculata, Catholic and Marywood.
