Men's Lax Tops Mighty Macs

IMMACULATA, Pa. - Shenandoah University kept its Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse Tournament hopes alive Wednesday evening with a 9-8 victory over host Immaculata.

The Hornets (5-4, 2-2 CSAC) trailed 4-1 after one and 5-4 when the two teams headed into the half, but were able to rally against the Mighty Macs (3-7, 1-2).

After Dan Burgman gave the hosts a 7-6 lead with his unassisted goal 44 seconds into the fourth quarter, SU clinched the game by scoring three of the game's final four goals.

Immaculata was able to tie the game one more time, on a Joe Keller goal at 4:01, before Kevin Totaro netted the game-winner with 71 seconds remaining.

Totaro finished off a feed from Jimmy Bungert for the game-winner and after losing the ensuing face-off, the Hornets forced a turnover to seal the victory.

Totaro and senior Steve Mayor both had two goals while James Gonzales added a goal and an assist.

Mayor's classmate, Rodney Mattison, had 18 saves to earn the win.
