Catholic Stops Men's Lax

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Host Catholic University held Shenandoah University scoreless for the first 46 minutes Wednesday afternoon on its way to a 12-4 non-league men's lacrosse victory.

Catholic (6-4) scored twice within the first 90 seconds of the contest and then coasted to the seven-goal win over the Hornets (4-3).

PJ Cooper scored the initial goal of the game for SU with an unassisted tally 69 seconds into the fourth quarter, but the Cardinals advantage was too tough to overcome.

Now leading 9-1, CUA and the Hornets traded the final five goals of the contest.

James Gonzalez had a goal and an assist for SU with Courtney Ledden and Sean Mack chipping in a goal each.
