
WINCHESTER, Va. - No. 16 Cabrini College continued its run through the Colonial States Athletic Conference with a 21-1 men's lacrosse win over host Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.
The Cavaliers (10-3, 4-0 CSAC) scored the games first six goals and then held Shenandoah (5-6, 2-3) scoreless for the final 48:20 of the contest.
Despite the loss, SU can still clinch a spot in the four-team CSAC Tournament with a home win over Centenary next Saturday in the regular season finale.
Freshman Joe Avveduti had the Hornets lone goal; he tallied off of a James Gonzalez assist at the 3:20 mark of the first quarter.
Cabrini outshot the Hornets 43-13, owned a 50-26 advantage in groundballs and won 18 of the game's 26 faceoffs.
SU keepers Rodney Mattison and Chris O'Quain combined to make 14 saves.
