Men's Golf 14th at adidas/TaylorMade

BEAUFORT, S.C. – The Shenandoah University men's golf team is 14th after day one of the adidas/TaylorMade Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Dataw Island, South Carolina.

Playing the par-72, 6738-yard Cotton Dike course at Dataw Island, the Hornets shot 336 in the morning round and 339 in the afternoon.

Shenandoah is in 14th place, 12 shots back of No. 13 Hanover (Indiana).

McDaniel leads the tournament with a 618 total. The Green Terror are one shot in front of both Kenyon and Greensboro.

Senior Doc Schulte paced the Hornets in round one, shooting a four-over 76 with Blake Woodie posting a 88, Robert Fox 83 and Josh Bianco 90.

Joseph Gesell had a 94 that did not count toward the team total.

Fox had an 83 in the afternoon, Bianco 85 and Schulte 85 and Gesell 86 to round out the 339 total.

Woodie's 87 in the afternoon did not count toward the team total.

Erich Gall, playing as an individual, Gall had a three-over 75 thanks to two birdies and seven pars in his morning round.

The Hornets also had five individuals playing. Brett Dubin shot 87-86--173, Gall 84-92--176, Connor McCarthy 87-89--176, J.R. Mills 92-91--183 and Trevor Gardner 85-100-185.

The tournament concludes Tuesday.
