ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Shenandoah University men's golf team stands tied for fifth after day one of the Purple Raider Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union.
Playing at the par-72, 6694-yard Tannenhauf GC, Shenandoah carded a collective 311 Saturday on the opening day of the two-day, 36-hole event.
SU is tied with Baldwin-Wallace University for fifth and the two squads are just two shots back of fourth place College of Wooster.
John Carroll University holds a one-stroke lead over tournament host Mount Union with Allegheny two shots behind UMU.
Shenandoah and B-W are four shots clear of Westminster.
Junior Blake Forst is tied for fifth after posting a one-over 73. Mount Union's Buster Thomas currently leads with a four-under 68.
The tournament concludes Sunday.
