Winchester native Adam Walsh was introduced as just the third full-time Head Men's Basketball Coach in Shenandoah University history in June, 2017.

Walsh, a James Wood H.S. graduate, came to Shenandoah after leading the men's basketball program at Centenary College of Louisiana for seven seasons.

Walsh led the Gents to 85 wins in that time, including 84 from 2011-2017 as NCAA Division III members. In 2010-11, he guided the Centenary to a 1-29 record as a certified NCAA Division III team playing a Division I schedule.

In 2012-13, Walsh earned a pair of wins in Shingleton Gymnasium as Centenary won the 2012 BB&T Tip-Off Classic with an 80-69 victory over Shenandoah in the title game. The Gents opened the tourney by topping Goucher, 72-70.

Walsh guided Centenary to the 2015 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title, the program's first since joining Division III, was named as the 2014 SCAC Coach of the Year and won 84 Division III games in his seven seasons as the head coach at the Sheveport, Louisiana school.

As an assistant coach, he was part of staffs that saw the head coach earn league coach of the year honors in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

His assistant coaching stops included stints at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Barton College, Odessa College and Paris Junior College.

A 2000 graduate of High Point University, Walsh got his college coaching start as a graduate manager at Campbell University.

Walsh is the third full-time head men's basketball coach in program history.

*Centenary played an NCAA Division I schedule in 2010-11 after declaring it would reclassify to Division III.
