Golf Finishes Fall Season

GLEN ALLEN, Va. - The Shenandoah University golf team completed its 2012 fall season Sunday afternoon with a 10th place finish at the Ted Keller Memorial Tournament hosted by Randolph-Macon.

Playing in wet, rainy conditions at the par-72, 6882-yard Hunting Hawk GC course outside of Richmond, SU had a collective 331 on day two of the 36-hole, 11-team event.

The Hornets finished three strokes behind fellow ODAC members Roanoke and Bridgewater, who tied for eighth.

Shenandoah was 51 strokes clear of 11th place Wesley.

Guilford, one of seven ODAC schools in the event, won it by 11 strokes over host Randolph-Macon. The Quakers shot a day two best 300 to make up a four shot deficit to the Yellow Jackets.

Cory Hammons and Zach Ramey shared team medalist honors for SU with 158 totals. Hammons shot 81 on Sunday and Ramey 82.

The two men finished tied for 25th in the 64-man field.

The Hornets open the spring season in late February.
