Playing at the par-72, 6882-yard Hunting Hawk Golf Course, SU finds itself in the middle of the 14-team field after day one of the two-day, 36-hole event.
Hampden-Sydney leads with a five-over-par 293 with Franklin & Marshall second with a 296.
Shenandoah is three strokes in front of host Randolph-Macon and two back of future ODAC rival Bridgewater.
Sophomore John Judy is tied for 19th after posting a four-over-par 76 with classmate Zach Ramey one stroke back.
Derek Snarr had a 78 and David Rynecki an 81 to round out the 312 total.
The tournament concludes Sunday with a morning shotgun start.
