Golf Opens Fall with 322

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Shenandoah University golf team opened its 2009 fall season Saturday afternoon with a collective 322 in round one of the N.C. Wesleyan Fall Invitational.

Sophomore Derek Snarr led the Hornets over the par-72, 7085-yard Ford's Colony Rocky Mount course with a four-over-par 76 while Matt Bassford had an 80 and both Josh Wiegand and Aaron DeHaven carded 83's. 

There are 10 teams in the tournament, but team scores have not been calculated after round because of a dispute with an individual score from one team. When this dispute is resolved, the team scores will be posted.

The 36-hole tournament concludes Sunday with an 18-hole round.
