Golf Seventh at Bridgewater
HARRISONBURG, Va. - Shenandoah University maintained its seventh place position with another solid round Sunday afternoon on day two of the Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament hosted by Bridgewater College.
Host Bridgewater won the 11-team, 36-hole event held at the par-72, 6500-yard Lakeview Golf Course by two strokes over Christopher Newport University with a 290-294--584.
Shenandoah, which shot 311 Saturday in the opening round, improved to a 309 Sunday but was unable to move out of its seventh place spot. The Hornets finished eight strokes behind sixth place McDaniel and three shots in front of Lynchburg.
Sophomore Derek Snarr, who was tied for 17th following Saturday's opening round after carding a five-over-par 77, improved to a tie for 11th after shooting 73 Sunday.
Junior Josh Wiegand posted a 78 Sunday to come in tied for 17th overall with a 152 total.
Aaron DeHaven shot 77 and David Rynecki 81 to round out the team's total.
SU is back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Hampden-Sydney Tournament.
