
ASHLAND, Va. - Shenandoah University completed its fall season
Monday afternoon by finishing 10th at the annual Virginia State
Division III championships.
The 12-team, 36-hole tournament began Sunday at 1:00 and slow play
caused half the field to not be able to complete their initial
rounds Sunday afternoon.
Those six teams returned to the course Monday morning at 7:30 with
the first round concluding at approximately 9:00.
After shooting 332 in that first round, the Hornets came back later
Monday to shoot a 333 in the final round and maintain their 10th
place showing.
Shenandoah finished five shots in front of 11th place Ferrum.
Bridgewater, which was one stroke out of first heading into the
final round, blistered the course wirh a collective 301 Monday
afternoon to win by 10 shots over fellow ODAC member Roanoke
College.
Sophomore Josh
Wiegand led SU over the par 71, 6853-yard Hanover Country Club
course with an 80-76--156 that was good for a tie for seventh
place. He was the second best USA South Conference finisher.
