Hornets Fifth at USA South

MEBANE, N.C. - Shenandoah University completed its 2009 spring golf season Sunday evening by finishing fifth in the 2009 USA South Conference Golf Championships hosted by Mill Creek Golf Club.

The Hornets shot a collective 977 in the 54-hole event to finish 102 strokes in front of sixth-place Ferrum.

Methodist won the event by 33 strokes over Greensboro with an 865 total and earns the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Junior Aaron DeHaven earned SU medalist honors with a 239 total over par-72, 7004-yard Mill Creek course. He was 18th overall.
