Golf Remains Fifth


MEBANE, N.C. - Shenandoah University shot a collective 321 on day two to remain in fifth place after day two of the 2009 USA South Conference Golf Championships hosted by Mill Creek Golf Club.

Freshman Derek Snarr led the Hornets over the par-72, 7004-yard Mill Creek course with a seven-over-par 79.

Aaron DeHaven had an 80 while Josh Wiegand and Joe Orsino both carded 81's to round out the team's total.

Methodist leads the 54-hole event with a one-over 577 with Greensboro in second at 609.

Shenandoah is 20 strokes back of fourth place Averett and an even 100 in front of sixth place Ferrum.

The tournament concludes Sunday afternoon.
