Golf 14th at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Shenandoah University shot a 320 Tuesday afternoon to complete the 36-hole Greensboro College Golf Invitational in 14th place with a 643 total.

Senior Joe Orsino led the Hornets over the par 72, 7135-yard Bryan Park Golf Tournament with an 11-over-par 78-77--155. He finished tied for 42nd.

Freshman Derek Snarr, with a pair of 79's, finished three strokes behind Orsino and was tied for 53rd overall.

Huntington College, which shot a tournament-best 283 Tuesday, won the tournament by five strokes over Methodist. The Hawks collective 283 was seven strokes better than any other score in the 16-team tournament.

Shenandoah finished nine strokes behind 13th place Greensboro College "Green" and 14 shots in front of fellow USA South Conference member Ferrum College.

Colin Chapman, from Oglethorpe University, won individual medalist honors with a six-under-par total of 138. He shot a four-under 68 on day two.

Shenandoah is back in action next week at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational.
