Golf Eighth at Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Shenandoah University golf team opened up
its 2009 spring season by finishing eighth at the Birmingham
Southern Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
The Hornets shot a combined 338-319--657 over the par-72, 6780-yard
Oxmoor Valley Course along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail to
come in eighth of 10 teams.
Senior Joe Orsino led SU in the tourney with a 77-80--157 to finish
tied for 22nd while classmate Taylor Chamberlin posted an
85-77--162 to finish tied for 31st.
Shenandoah's 657 total was three strokes behind seventh place
Lambuth and 45 shots clear of ninth place Millsaps.
