Golf 18th at Berry Invitational


ROME, Ga. - Shenandoah University fired a collective 316-332--648 at the 21-team Rome News Invitational hosted by Berry (Ga.) College Monday and Tuesday to finish tied for 18th overall.

Senior Joe Orsino backed up his four-over-par 76 over the 6702-yard, par-72 Stonebridge Golf Club layout from Monday with a 77 Tuesday to take team medallist honors. He finished tied for 48th overall.

Junior Aaron DeHaven, who had a 78 Monday, carded an 84 on Tuesday to come in tied for 90th.

Josh Wiegand matched Orsino for day two low-score honors with a 77; he had 159 total and was 74th overall.

Derek Snarr had an 80-86--166 and Taylor Chamberlin 83-84--167 to round out the team scores.

The Hornets are back in action Saturday and Sunday at the Don Scalf Invitational hosted by N.C. Wesleyan.
