FROSTBURG, Md. – Shenandoah University scored a pair of second half goals on its way to a 2-0 non-league field hockey victory at Frostburg State Sunday afternoon.
Shenandoah (6-4) scored its two goals in a span of 2:07 late in the second half to push past Frostburg (3-8).
Freshman Isabella Morande had nine saves, with Payne adding a defensive stop, to record the shutout.
The shutout is the first of Morande's career.
The two teams split 26 shots and 16 corners. Each team had seven shots in the first half and six in the second.
"We had a tough weekend with two back to back games, but the team rallied to get the win," head coach Ashley Smeltzer-Kraft said. "Today's game was a good finale to our non-conference schedule and we are eager to start ODAC play on Wednesday."
