WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University Head Women's Field Hockey Coach Kim Iman-Bianchi announced her 2012 schedule Thursday morning.
Iman-Bianchi, who is in the midst of recruiting her first class to Shenandoah after taking the helm of the program in July, has 10 home games on her 18-game schedule next fall.
In addition to ODAC contests against Bridgewater, Sweet Briar, Roanoke and Eastern Mennonite, the Hornets will host Hood, Frostburg State, Notre Dame (Md.), York (Pa.) and Gettysburg in non-conference matches.
The Hood match, on September 4 at 4 p.m., is the home opener.
Shenandoah opens the 2012 season on August 31 at Wilson (Pa.).
Dickinson and Gettysburg, on September 1 and 25, respectively, are new opponents on the 2012 slate.
Both the Red Devils and Bullets are members of the Centennial Conference.
Seven of the matches, including three of the four ODAC contests, are 7:00 starts.
The Sweet Briar contest, on Thursday, October 4, will kick off homecoming weekend activities.
"I like this schedule," Iman-Bianchi said. "I feel that we have a strong non-conference schedule that is going to help us prepare for ODAC play.
"Recruiting has been going great and our returnees are excited for our non-traditional season this spring.
"I look for us to be very competitive in every game next season."
