Hockey Eighth in First MAC Poll

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Shenandoah University women's field hockey team is a pre-season No. 8 selection the MAC Commonwealth race in a poll released Wednesday by the MASCAC office.

The Hornets received 15 points to come in just behind Arcadia in the eight-team MAC Commonwealth race. After seven seasons of independent play, Shenandoah begins its first conference season this fall after being accepted into the MAC Commonwealth in January 2008.

SU opens its 2009 season on September 1 with a non-league game against Wilson College.
