READING, Pa. - Host Alvernia University shut out Shenandoah University 6-0 in MAC Commonwealth field hockey action Saturday afternoon.
The Knights (9-6, 2-2 CC) scored three goals in each half to send the Hornets (7-6, 1-3) down to their third straight defeat.
Ashley Tatangelo scored what proved to be the game-winner with her tally off of a Samantha Landis assist at 2:54.
AU outshot the Hornets 13-4 for the game and took all nine of the contest's corners.
Danielle Lawson had three saves in the loss.
Shenandoah completes its home schedule on Wednesday with a 4:00 MAC Commonwealth game against Elizabethtown.
