ANNVILLE, Pa. - No. 7 in the nation Lebanon Valley ended Shenandoah University's four-match field hockey winning streak with an 8-2 MAC Commonwealth victory Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchwomen (12-1, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) scored three times in a 35-second span early in the contest to take total control over SU (7-4, 1-2).
Jocelyn Novak got things started at 5:18 with her 16th goal of the season and LVC scored again at 5:38 and 5:53 to put itself in the driver's seat.
The hosts took a 6-0 lead into the break by scoring again in the 25th, 31st and 33rd minutes.
Sarah DeLuca scored the first of her two goals on the afternoon at 50:31 on a rebound. After the Dutchwomen tallied two more times, closed the book at 59:16 by finishing off a feed from Katie Johnson.
LVC outshot SU 28-8 and held a 16-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Danielle Lawson had 11 saves.
Shenandoah hosts Randolph-Macon on Sunday at noon.
