WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University earned its first-ever MAC Commonwealth victory Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 field hockey win over Arcadia.
The Knights (2-6, 0-2 MAC) drew first blood with a Staci Frye goal at 13:55, but Shenandoah (6-3, 1-1) had an answer.
Sophomore Megan Garrett tied it with a goal off of a Paola Aguilar goal at 26:17 before freshman Katie Johnson netted the game-winner just under two minutes later.
Aguilar had the assist on this goal as well - she ended up with a school-record three assists on the day.
After taking the 2-1 lead into the break, Amanda Mittelkamp and Johnson scored within a 75-second span of one another early in the second half to put the game away.
SU held a 16-7 advantage in shots.
