WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Albright College ruined Shenandoah University's entry into MAC Commonwealth play with a 4-1 league victory Saturday afternoon on Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium.
After SU (3-3, 0-1 Commonwealth) opened the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute, Albright (4-5, 1-0) answered with two goals of its own in the next 15 minutes.
Freshman Sarah DeLuca got that initial goal of the game for the hosts off of a feed from classmate Megan Garrett but AC had two quick answers.
Sophomore Caitlin Feldman figured in both goals - she tallied unassisted in the 15th minute and then fed junior Gia Boscola with what proved to be the game-winner at 27:27.
Boscola, the current MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week, then gave her club a two-goal advantage with an unassisted tally 57 seconds into the second half.
Feldman closed things out with an unassisted goal at 56:45.
Albright outshot its hosts 9-6 while SU had a 6-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Hornets keeper Danielle Lawson had four saves in the losing effort.
Shenandoah hosts Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday at 2:30 in a non-league contest.
