Lynchburg Ends Hockey's Winning Streak
WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Lynchburg College used a strong start Sunday afternoon to key a 4-0 victory over host Shenandoah in non-league field hockey action.
The LC Hornets (4-1) got a Signey Milks goal on a penalty stroke in the 14th minute to provide all of the offense it woudl need against the SU Hornets (2-1).
Lynchburg scored three more times in the first half - at 20:02, 20:18 and 34:42 - to provide the final margin of victory.
LC outshot SU 21-3 and had a 19-2 advantage in penalty corners.
Shenandoah keeper Danielle Lawson had seven saves in the losing effort.
The Shenandoah Hornets travel to Frostburg State on Wednesday for a non-league contest.
