No. 4 Messiah Tops Hockey
GRANTHAM, Pa. - No. 4 in the nation Messiah College dominated
Shenandoah University Tuesday afternoon in a 13-0 non-league field
hockey victory.
The Falcons (7-1) scored their first goal just 2:11 into the game
with SU (0-13) and continued to pour it on in the 70-minute
contest.
MC scored two more goals in the next 34 seconds and eventually led
7-0 by the half.
Messiah outshot 50-0 for the contest, taking 24 shots in the first
half and 26 in the second. Shenandoah keeper Danielle Lawson
made a school-record 24 saves, but could not hold up against the
offensive onslaught.
The hosts also held a 24-0 advantage in penalty corners.
Eleven different women registered at least one point for MC, who
moved to No. 4 in the country this week after being fifth last
week.

Shenandoah is now off until October 19 when it hosts Virginia
Wesleyan.
