FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University football team is the No. 7 pick of the ODAC coaches in pre-season poll results released Tuesday afternoon.

The Hornets, who finished tied for fourth in the ODAC last season with a 4-3 league mark, have eight points in the poll.

Emory and Henry, one of the four ODAC squads that Shenandoah defeated last season, is the pick to win it this fall. The Wasps have five first place votes and 32 points in the poll.

Randolph-Macon is picked second with 26 points with Washington and Lee third at 24.

Voting was done on a 6-1 basis with coaches forbidden to vote for their own schools in the poll.

SU opens its 2017 season on September 2 in a 7 p.m. non-league game versus Gallaudet. The ODAC opener is September 28 at Randolph-Macon.
