CHARLOTTE, N.C. - According to social media reports, senior Rico Wallace is set to sign an NFL free agent contract Saturday evening with the Carolina Panthers.
Wallace, the all-time leading receiver in Shenandoah University history, went undrafted in the annual seven-round NFL draft that concluded Saturday afternoon.
As a senior at SU, Wallace had 67 receptions for 1241 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was named first team All-USA South and as an All-America by two different publications.
After participating in a number of combines, the last at James Madison University in March, Wallace received significant interest from two NFL clubs as a late-round/undrafted free agent selection from two different NFL teams.
Wallace has elected to sign an undrafted free agent deal with Carolina as a result of that interest.
