SALEM, Va. - Three Shenandoah University senior football players have been named to the D3Senior Classic All-Star game in selections announced recently by contest organizers.
Wallace, Wright and Giffing helped the football team to its most successful season in the past seven years this past fall as they rewrote the SU offensive record book.
Wallace, a first team All-USA South selection at wide receiver, set new marks for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns as he earned first team All-USA South Conference honors for the second straight season.
The Hanover, Maryland native was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and as the USA South Conference offensive Player of the Week two times each in 2011.
Wallace completed his career owning every game, season and career receiving record.
Wright, a two-year starter under center, threw for a school-record 2371 yards and 23 touchodwns on 181 completions in 300 attempts this fall while also scoring eight rushing touchdowns.
Wright led the Hornets to 10 wins in his two years as a starter, including a 6-4 campaign in 2011.
Like Wallace, Wright completes his career owning every significant record at his position.
Giffing missed three games with an injured arm, but still had 24 solo and 19 assisted tackles from his linebacker spot.
Giffing, a two-time All-USA South honoree, had 8.5 tackles for loss and a second-best-on-team 4.5 sacks.
