WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University opened practice for its 2011 football season on Sunday afternoon with 118 players.
After reporting on Saturday evening, the Hornets began pre-season practice on Sunday morning with a 6 a.m. conditioning test.
This test was followed by the first of two split sessions in which the newcomers and returning players were separated into different groups.
Following the completion of the NCAA mandated conditioning period, the team will practice as one unit for the remainder of the pre-season camp.
Shenandoah opens the 2011 season, its 12th season of intercollegiate football, with a home game on Saturday, September 3 against Stevenson. Game time is 7 p.m.
