Henry Named VBL Player of the Week

WINCHESTER, Va. - Rising senior Jesse Henry has been named Valley Baseball League North Division Player of the Week in selections announced Monday by the VBL office.

Henry, who is in his second summer with the Front Royal Cardinals, celebrated his return to the lineup this past week by leading the 12-team VBL with a .538 average.

Henry helped the first-place Cardinals to a five-game winning streak by getting seven hits in 13 at-bats with one double and two runs batted in. He also was a perfect 2 for 2 in stolen bases.

Henry, who plays with SU teammates Greg Van Sickler and Kevin Brashears for Front Royal, is back in action Monday night at New Market. Van Sickler is scheduled to be the Cardinals starting pitcher.
