Championship Field Set
APPLETON, Wis. - The 2010 NCAA Baseball Championship field is set and Shenandoah University is slated for the final game on day one of the eight-team tourney.
Shenandoah (38-8) will open the eight-team, double-elimination tournament on Friday at 7:45 p.m. CDT (8:45 p.m. Eastern Time) against Central Region Champion Illinois Wesleyan.
The Titans, a member of the CCIW and located in Bloomington, earned a Pool A berth into the 2010 NCAA Tournament field with a CCIW Tournament championship.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools in any sport.
The winner of the SU/IWU game will face the winner of the Heidelberg (Ohio) vs Johns Hopkins (Md.) contest on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. CDT. Heidelberg, the OAC Tournament champs, won the Mid-East Regional while the Centennial champion Blue Jays won the Mid-Atlantic.
The losers of those SU/IWU and HC/JHU contests will face-off in an elimination game at 1:15 Saturday.
